Problem:

Use Virtual Box and MVWare in both programs I cannot share folder, using their internal option Pasta Compartilha.

Look at the images for a better explanation of the problem:

Doubt:

Why can’t I find the shared folder?

Observing: Network sharing is not trivial since the Virtual Box and VMWare allow internal sharing. Show the directory /mnt/hfgs, in it I found the folder when I started using the Virtual Machine and today I can’t find any more.

  • I think you have to install a utility in the operating system that is inside the Virtual Machine, to enable this form of integration of the Operating System that is running inside the Virtual Machine, with other resources of the Virtual Box.

To make it work, Install the Guest Additions

https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch04.html

This will enable this form of integration of the Operating System that is running inside the Virtual Machine, with the Virtual Box feature.

Another way is to share the folder normally in the Operating System inside the Virtual Machine, and access it through a network share, as if it were a normal PC on the network, using the syntax

\\NomeDoPC\PastaCompartilhada

Solution in Virtualbox:

About Guestadditions: Guest Additions

This is what we have to do:

Virtualbox Guest Additions for all operating systems supported guests are provided as a CD image file -Single ROM that is called Vboxguestadditions.iso . This image file is located in the Virtualbox installation directory . For install Guest Add-ons for a particular VM, you mount this ISO file on your VM as a virtual CD-ROM and install the depart from there.

Mounting CD-ROM drive on virtual machine

Mount the VBoxGuestAdditions.iso that’s in the folder C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox (on my computer) inside your Virtual Machine folder go in its settings. Note the image.

Initiating installation

Launch the virtual machine and go to the CD-ROM drive that looks like the name VBoxGuestAdditions getting there perform autorun.sh Choose "Run on Terminal" option observe the terminal image under installation.

Observing: When the installation is completed restarts the Virtual Machine.

Imagem 2: Depois que foi executado autorun.sh essa é a tela de instalação do mesmo. Image 2: After it was executed autorun.sh this is the installation screen of the same.

Viewing Folder Shares

Now it is your preference to access your shared folder via terminal or console.

Note the image where the shared folder is:

Image color caption 3:

  • Red - Folder where the shares are
  • Green - Shared folder in [your VM > Settings > Folder Shared]
  • Blue - CD-ROM containing the VBoxGuestAdditions.iso. [your VM > Settings > Storage]

Observing: I always have the shared folder on /mnt/hfgs, however I ended up meeting her now in /media as follows the image. This process solved my problem, I hope it helps everyone.
