When error 404 in header, and redirect to a specific page?

But it’s no use me doing it with .htaccess, because I’ve tried and it won’t, I want to do with php.

I tried something like this:

if($httpCode == 404) {
    /* REDIRECT AQUI */
}

But it didn’t work, how do I do it ?

You tried it this way in . htaccess?

Errordocument 404 /page-a-show.php
