I am trying to configure it, but this giving the following error when sending a test message in the Test Email tab.

CLIENT -> SERVER: QUIT 

SMTP -> get_lines(): $data is ""

SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.

There is no additional information about the SMTP server but assuming "gsmtp" is Gmail, it follows information:

For security reasons, Gmail blocks any incoming connection to your SMTP server. To establish a connection to the Gmail SMTP server and send emails, you will also need to allow less secure applications in your account.

If you don’t want to enable this feature, try using the plugin Gmail SMTP.
