So far in my reports I have been using tables and I link my datasets to those. But today I needed to use a List to create a card (I’m still trying to understand how it works).

When to use Table, Matrix and List and their differences?

According to the documentation:

Table

It’s a columnar report. It works like a perfect matrix. It is possible to make some settings, but it is that classic report with rows and columns.

Today it’s like a matrix bounded by configuration.

Matrix

The main differences are being able to merge cells and create relationships with other data, it’s like having a table inside another.

In the background, in the current versions the Tablix that brings together the best of the two. It is possible to get previous settings for one model or another, but it is the same mechanism.

List

In fact it should be called document since it is free to put the fields where you want.

New list added from the tool box, selected Table, Matrix, List
