I created a free DDNS in Winco and wanted to know how to redirect it to an application in Tomcat.
At the moment when I access the DDNS, it redirects to my modem page.

  • I don’t know if the Winco service has this configuration most of them free provides you a program to install locally on your machine but if there is a control panel there on the service website just you change the ip to the server where Tomcat is running and make sure that it is running over port 80 and free of firewall. If there are any questions you can change your question. Hugs...

  • Yes, I installed this program on the server and set up the entry and exit rules on the firewall. Apparently the site has no control panel.

  • Which DDNS you registered ? posted here!

Note that Domain is pointed to an offline ip.

Check if the ip of your server is the same if it is not go to the program you installed and fix the ip. It may also be possible that Winco has not yet propagated the sub-domain, which I highly doubt because it is a service abroad and generally the spread of subdomains are immediate.

PING

Check if the server ip is 189.74.171.120 on linux use:

ifconfig

In windows use DOS and type:

ipconfig /all

With these commands scan the network interface and grab the ip.

  • The IP was correct, the solution was to create the rule on the router to direct it to the server. But wanted to know if you have how to make it work without having to type the door in front of the DNS.
