How to wake up the screen only by touching the android screen

It would be possible to wake up a device with Android Operating System just by touching your screen, without pressing any physical button like Power or Home, such as on Nexus 5 and LG G2, where a double tap of the erased screen awakens them.

I need something already existing that performs this procedure because I do not know how to proceed. I leave a link for a Youtube video demonstrating the feature in better detail.

  • Are you sure this is too wide? It doesn’t seem.

  • @bfavaretto I agree that it is not too wide, but I still think it should be closed, because it does not seem to me a doubt about programming, but rather a search for ready codes that perform the task he wants

  • For me this is out of context, broad has nothing. It is very specific, but it is not a matter of programming.

It is not a conventional Android feature but a modified ROM called Elementalx. In the video description there is a link to the version of this ROM for the Nexus 5 (functionality doubletap2wake). This functionality even consumes more battery when enabled, because the device’s CPU does not enter Sleep mode shortly after the screen shuts down, having to stay active to detect the screen touches.

  • Right, but programming something like, like, waking up the screen with two taps on the screen is not possible, I mean, without the overuse of battery? Because I saw an LG G2 with the same function as the Nexus 5 and I don’t seem to consume battery like this. With this he needed to develop a way to awaken the device with the touch of the screen.

  • Probably not. Who will handle the screen touch events is the CPU, which needs to be already awake (through a Wake Lock) to do this treatment. And remember that the LG G2 is one of the most battery-powered devices on the market today.
