Where do I get official bank account validation rules and check digit?

After a lot of searching on Google, I can only find rules from ten years ago and on forums, with no source reference. I heard that Itaú suffered changes in its rules and I imagine that Bradesco changes at some point, with the acquisition of HSBC.

I believe that official information you will only have by contacting the bank’s IT team or someone who has access to it (someone who has worked with banks). Even if you can and can post here, help the next.

There’s also the website [www.4devs.com.br/validator_bankaccount][1], which validates the account number, so they certainly have the validation algorithm (which varies in each bank, as far as I know).

  • Thank you, @thishinoda. I had found this site, but I didn’t consider looking at source code because I believed that validation was done on backend. I will give a better check. If I find any official answer (and have not deleted my question which has been marked as "doesn’t seem to be about programming"), I put here yes.
