How do I create templates in iReport?

I wonder if there is any way to use a template created by me in other reports? I want all reports in my system to follow a pattern, but how to do this?

  • Start a blank report and go "modeling" it

  • I want to know how to repeat this model in others

Yes, you can create custom templates this way just by choosing your system’s default template when you click New, to create a new report.

To create a new template create a template save the . jrxml in a folder of your choice and then go to Tools >>> Options >>> Ireport >>> Templates and indicate the path of that folder.

When you click on File >>> New, after restarting Ireport, your template will appear.
