This script below is a php socket to receive data from a tk102 vehicular tracker. The problem is that I think it has to run in a specific folder on the server and I don’t know how to do it, and there’s this CLI script issue that I don’t know what it is. If someone has worked with something like this and can help me I appreciate

#!/usr/bin/php -q

CLI stands for Command Line Interface.

To run a PHP script written for CLI, simply access the terminal (console, ssh, cmd, shell console, etc).

By the Linux shell, run the command:

>/usr/bin/php /local/do/script.php

That’s enough to run.

Note also that in this snippet there is an optional parameter

if(!isset($argv[1]) || $argv[1] != '-f') {
become_daemon();
}

To use it, run like this

>/usr/bin/php /local/do/script.php -f

Obs: No need to type > at the beginning of the commands. The signal > is only to represent the environment of a shell. (that little black screen).

Also make sure of the correct PHP binary location. In the above examples I put as /usr/bin/php but may be elsewhere on your server.

  • This PHP inside bin is a folder?

  • is the compiler of php... a binary file...
