Studying about artificial intelligence I observed a lot the term fuzzy logic, or Fuzzy Logic. What is this diffuse logic and what are its applications? I know it is different from Boolean logic, but what differs the two logics?

Fuzzy logic is a logic that differs from boolean by working with a value scale and not just with the binary scale true and false. This scale of values determines the degree of relevance of an element in a given set. Thus, it is possible to be less radical in data classification, because instead of simply saying that an element belongs or does not belong to a set you can say that it belongs with a certain degree of relevance. But the upvote was for content, really =P However, if you can complement it with a short example, illustrations, or code, I think it would be more complete. (I could use something from that question Fuzzylogic in Javascript? to create a snippet)... are just ideas, of course.
