I saw that term in a movie, Who Am I (Invaders in PT-BR), and basically what I understood is an attribution to the famous ctrl c + ctrl v.

To better specify, what actions make a person be considered a script kiddie? A script kiddie is hated by programmers? And overall, what is a script kiddie ?

Do a search in code protection PHP, HTML and JS here on the site that will have a full plate of techniques compatible with this modus operandi.

  • @durtto the problem is that all the answers are just the definition of the word in a well summarized way, what I wanted just as I put in the question, would be kind of a more in-depth answer on that subject.

Script kiddie is the term used for people who use scripts, source code, exploits or other types of artifacts without having the slightest notion of how they work, its use is on the basis of error/hit(brute force), usually with the purpose of hacking or causing damage to networks/systems.

@rray has already given you the exact definition of the term, but remember that in my time (speaking like this I think I’m an elder) before I existed windows 3.11 and windows 95, people with a low level of knowledge and who used programs and scripts without knowing how their algorithms work were known as Lammers, therefore both are synonymous, eventually you will be able to hear the two terms.

Script Kiddie is the derogatory name given to inexperienced crackers looking for easy targets to apply their little technical knowledge. They lack programming knowledge and aim to gain fame and personal profits from their attacks.

And in fact, they are "hated" by most hackers.
