I am sending the updated files to the server via FTP with Filezilla, it is a virtual store, and the edited files are simply style sheets, but when I press F5 to refresh the page and see the changes, nothing happens, I mean, immediately, sometimes the change takes minutes to happen, on other sites hosted on another server this does not happen, the platform that is used is Opencart, someone knows some way to solve this obstacle?

most likely it is the server cache. Locaweb has quite this problem.

  • try to close the fillezilla connection and open a new one after a few minutes

  • i started working with the store now (on time/date of this comment)

  • I imagine you mean "On other sites hosted on the same server that doesn’t happen". You don’t have a cache extension installed on that Opencart?

  • no. " on other servers"

  • Something like Varnish Cache.

  • @Gabrielsantos ?? do not understand

  • Varnish Cache is a server cache system. If it is installed, when sending files via FTP, you will notice a delay until the files actually appear updated.

  • At Locaweb there is a delay for any image file or js that send via FTP, this is extremely annoying when you are doing some online test.

There are several Opencart extensions that cache. The ideal was to know which one you use on this site/server, to check if there is any specific configuration for it to recognize faster the files that have been updated.

There are also extensions (eg.: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=extension/Extension/info&extension_id=3126&filter_search=cache&filter_License=0 ) which add a "clear cache" button to the administrator page. So, right after the upload, you could clear the cache and see if it solves your problem.
