Background Ordova / phonegap

Question

I’m a beginner in the area of creating apps with Cordova , I’ve searched all over the internet but I can’t find any tutorial that explains exactly how to use the plugin for background, in all the questions I’ve seen here are the same answers I can’t understand I hope you can help me come on.

I am creating an application in Ordova that controls the user’s diet with pre-set times by the application itself informing the time to eat and other things , the application is working 100% but only works the alarms when it is open, need it to work also after user press back button on android found this plugin on github

I tried to run the command line

Cordova plugin add de.appplant.Cordova.plugin.background-mode --searchpath path path path

but this line adds the entire Master github folder inside the plugin folder and I don’t know what to do with those files, someone could help me and tell me exactly where to put the files and where to call each of the files?

Personally I have never tried to create an application capable of working in the background, however I know that there is a plugin capable of doing this:
