How to configure the WP Super Cache plugin?

I recently installed the WP Super Cache plugin on a Wordpress blog. In all the tutorials I found to configure it, they say that the best option in the advanced tab is to use the mode: "Use mod_rewrite to serve cache files"

But when I chose this option, something strange is happening. All pages are being cached as the plugin promises to do.

But the home page, Home is not holding the cache, whenever it is updated a new cache is created, and overloading the server.

As you can see in the image contrary to what various tutorials say, the plugin is saying that the recommended option is: Use PHP to serve cache files.

How is the right way to configure this plugin?

  • Have you checked the FAQ plugin? There is a lot there... The search tool in WP.org is hideous, but you might find something here: https://wordpress.org/search/mod_rewrite+wp-super-cache?forums=1
