How to receive a SMS via Codeigniter?

I have a system that uses the framework PHP Codeigniter and I need to receive SMS from a GPS of these car, which will give me the coordinates of the car in the style of Google Maps and then I keep in the database coordinates and date.

Is there any library, API or place I can look to help me develop this?
