I am developing an app that is connected on a local network but without internet. I am using an APC 8750 card http://apc.io/products/8750a no battery, ie when off loses the calendar. By which means Android automatically updates the calendar? If in the case of Android use a date and time server or NTP on the internet, how to change the server to a Server on a server in this same local network for example?

In the default settings of Android, it uses the time and zone of the cellular network and to change the date and time of the device you need it to be rooted, because there is no application level permission to access this feature of the mobile.

  • In fact this APC 8750 uses an Android 2.3 modified for a decktop version (mouse and keyboard). I noticed that when there is internet connection, the schedule updates correctly. I am in contact with apc.io but ta very complicated, just do not respond. Even so thank Acdias.

  • I believe that even modified, the time change permission keeps the same standard only system user have permission. Here you seem to have a solution (if rooted) to the problem: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1332269/how-to-set-mobile-system-time-and-date-in-android

  • Hj received a very interesting reply, the APC 8750 comes without the battery for your RTC, soldered a battery at the indicated location and ready.
