Hello, I’m getting the following error message below:

This Configuration Section cannot be used at this path. This Happens when the site Administrator has locked access to this Section using from an inherited Configuration file.

This is about the server security level, but the point is, I’ve changed the web.config in several ways, to air an MVC4 application on the Locaweb server windows 2012 IIS7 apparently is a simple application using basic Entity Framework DLL things with Mysql database.

I questioned the support and received the following reply

Settings between local server emulators, server hosting providers, are vastly most of the time, different among themselves. Only this procedure [] is not enough to change the Security Level of an application. So that you can properly resolve Security Level issues, must: For third party DLL’s: • Check with manufacturer the possibility to work with the DLL in Security Level configured on the your hosting; For own DLL’s: • Analyze scripts and check whether the execution of these is allowed in the Security Level configured on your hosting server; For incoming applications from other providers: • Check, in advance, for DLL’s existing in the application are compatible with the Security Level of your accommodation plan; • Ideally such a check should be done before to make your application available in "production" mode in our servers.

1 - What else can I do to remedy this ? 2 - My application was compiled into 4.5 and from what I realized there on the server is 4.0

I haven’t had time to compile my MVC application into 4.0 yet it would work ?

I raised the question why it’s really giving me a headache, and I was wondering if anyone has ever experienced such a problem with Accommodation.

I would tell you not to waste time on Locaweb. To my knowledge, their compatibility with ASP.NET MVC is very limited, and Mysql Dlls are very old.

  • Which hosting service would be better ? type for MVC tals applications ? has any tips ?

  • I bought a cloud in Uolhost these days. I found it well in account, but it depends on the application. Azure also has very good prices.
