I have a report in Viewreport in VS2010 and when I export to Excel, the default VS button does not maintain the format of the fields. This way I cannot use Excel functions as SUM for example because all fields are as Text.
Has anyone ever had a similar problem? Any tips on how to solve?

Unfortunately, the Reportviewer that comes with SSRS is very hard - you will not be able to edit with the data type (datatype) to be something different in Excel downloaded. That question and answer in Soen explains a similar problem, and the author had to create his own extension in SSRS. Also that question on Soen had exactly the same problem - and ended up with the same answer.
I’m not saying it’s impossible, but it’s very complicated and complex - unfortunately!
