How do I change such an eclipse view?

To present the "right" way, just change the view you want to use. For both Java EE and Java perspectives, there are several views, note that in the "wrong" way is presented Navigator, while on the "right", Project Explorer.

To include a new view, go to Window -> Show View. In your case, choose Project Explorer, as below:
