Book tip for those who stopped in time

Hello,

I scheduled until mid-2012, I stopped then and I intend to return to my studies, but a lot has changed. My main area was the web, using php 5.3 , html 4 , css 2 and javascript with jQuery.

Enough new technology arrived, my main store to buy books was the linuxmall that unfortunately closed.

I intend to continue in the web area, but this time I want to move a little closer to the microsoft tools.

I have already started my studies in cakephp and in c#.

Current approach:

Reading the official cakephp library and looking to improve when possible in javascript. I believe the php I know is enough for now.

I started next this tutorial but it seems that the layered organization he uses is already outdated (BLL, DAL, GUI), I know the MVC...

Well if they can recommend some literature that will speed up my studies in web and c# desktop or better still turned to web I would appreciate, because due to the amount of information I am having a lot of procrastination when searching for information. I’d say I’m a little impacted by so much news since I stopped in the area.

Thank you!

Like the Maicon said, the question will eventually be closed because it is based on opinions, but I will also leave some things that may be useful to you.

If English is not a problem for you I recommend the following Youtube channels:

  • Devtips - Web Development focused on Front-end.
  • Phpacademy - Back-end Focused Web Development.
  • Derek Banas - App Development but if I’m not mistaken teaches a little C#
  • Brackeys - Game Development also teaches C#.

If you want to read books I recommend visiting this site where you find a lot of updated programming books.

If English is a problem I can’t help you much, what I can tell you is to search some books or channels on Youtube because I really know very few and most of them no longer exist or are outdated.

  • Thanks for the information, I do not understand much the rules of stackoverflow... If you have other tips even in English I thank.

  • @Leatar I forgot to mention that the existence of a wiki for the php tag, take a look and see if you can find something to help you too.
