How to get phone number via facebook API

I am implementing login via facebook on my site and it seems that it is no longer possible to get the phone number of the user, even with your authorization.

This post is from 2011. As I understand it, it is a feature that existed and was removed so that it was perfected the way in which the user is informed that the application will extract this information and that in the next few weeks it would be rehabilitated.

I did not find anything else about it. I ask: it is not even possible to get the user’s mobile phone to authorize this?

Fortunately/Unfortunately it is no longer possible to pick up the user’s phone via API.

Last year I asked this question to Luz Caballero, Facebook Developer Advocate, at PHP Conference Argentina 2013 and she said "there is no way to retrieve the user’s phone number through the API. This was a brief appeal, but was withdrawn shortly after".

  • By the warning (2011!) it seems that the removal was supposed to be something temporary: "We’ll be Working to Launch These updates as soon as possible, and will be temporarily Disabling this Feature [...] We look forward to re-enabling this [...]." You get with your contact at least a link to some more recent and especially definitive information?
