Barcodes follow patterns, some of them are:

Code 39
Code 128
EAN 8
EAN 13
EAN 128
Codabar

First you should know if for your application in question there is no convention that defines which is the most appropriate standard.

You don’t need to create a barcode generator yourself, as there are already thousands of applications over the internet, for example on that website. When accessing it, just choose the barcode pattern you think best, fill in the settings and inform the value you want to turn into barcode.

Note that some barcode patterns have some restrictions, such as EAN 8 only creates barcode for 8 numbers, with the eighth being the checker digit. Other patterns can accept letters and a variable number of characters in their value to be transformed.

  • By the tests I did I believe it to be UPC_A, the biggest problem is to identify all the corresponding numbers, some know it is the value of the INSS, others the company’s CNPJ, date of competence , but some are distinct.

  • I’m sorry but I don’t understand your doubt.

  • I need to pass numbers to the method, thus generating the barcode (85840000015-9). However there are 44 numbers in all and among them are the value of INSS , value x and Y, and other numbers I have no idea where it comes from.
