Keyword in domain or directory?

I’ve been reading about SEO and I’ve been wondering. Nowadays having a domain with some keyword worth it or just add that word in some directory?

Keyword example: Polo shirt

The site would look better if it were:

camisole.with

or

nomedosite.with/polo shirt

If google does not index the site name because it does not contain the keyword in the domain it is worth making a redirect to nomedosite.com/polo shirt as default instead of nomedosite.com?

And the last question is true which keyword in the domain is considered black hat?

  • Keywords can be inserted into a meta tag in head website or with schemas on body site. ex: <meta name="Keywords" content=" polo shirt"> .

  • So, but even with this the site does not appear well placed in the searches. I’m trying to do everything to have a site according to what the searchers index best.

Rafael,

The use of the keyword in the domain name is not considered Black Hat. The point is that in the past this was a ranking factor that gave a lot of return and Google ended up changing the algorithm.

It is good practice to have the keyword in the URL or domain.

If you have any questions about what the Black Hat practices are, see this article.

According to your example, Polo Shirt is the brand name or is one of the products that the site will contain?

If you are one of the products, I suggest following:

nomedosite.com/polo shirt

Just like you can do with other products.

I also suggest that you use the Google tool > Google Webmasters Tool to check and track website indexing. You can also identify if there are any bugs that need to be fixed.

I hope I’ve helped!
