According to the documentation of mysql for Nodejs, it is possible to configure a connection pool to limit the number of connections in Mysql

When running the following command on my Mysql server:

  show variables like 'max_connections';

I got the following result

Variable_name    |  Value
 max_connection  |  151

Knowing that in Nodejs I can configure the pool as follows:

var mysql = require('mysql');
var pool  = mysql.createPool({
  connectionLimit : 10,
  host            : 'example.org',
  user            : 'bob',
  password        : 'secret',
  database        : 'my_db'
});

In that attribute connectionLimit : 10, which is recommended to use?

The limit which is 151 or less?

Or I can increase in mysql?

Or how much I can raise?

Thank you for the clarification

  • According to this article the optimal number should be the number of threads, https://github.com/brettwooldridge/HikariCP the number that interests you is the value 3 Uncontended benchmark: 32 threads/32 Connections, but the ideal is to do performance analysis according to your input size.

  • I have to have some configuration to see these threads?

  • 1

    You search your machine processor (or the cloud that is running your application) and make the configuration accordingly.
