One of the HTML formatting tags is the tag <ins>, but all I found out about it is that it serves to mark an inserted text. I want to know more details of that text "inserted" is this, and in which cases this tag is used.

The tag <ins> is useful when a text that has been inserted into the page has been modified.

Often the tag <ins> is used with the tag <del>, that a given text is no longer valid.

A good example would be the date for a test, and if the date was changed, instead of deleting the old date and entering the new date, we apply the tag <del> in the old date and <ins> on the new date, keeping a history of changes on the page and calling the end user’s attention to the change that has been made.
