I have a web service and a website hosted on an Azure virtual machine accessed by a link like meunome.cloudapp.net. I also have the record www.meunome.com.br in the registro.br. I want to direct my registration to my virtual machine in Azure.

When trying to direct, the registro.br asks for a URL for Server Master and another for Server Slave 1. How to direct to my only virtual machine?

The Servidor Master and the Servidor Slave 1 are for when you will use another DNS server.

If you want to use the DNS server of registro.br you should select utilizar os servidores DNS disponibilizados gratuitamente pelo Registro.br or Editar Zona if I have already made this choice.

You must:

  1. Log in to Azure Management Portal, select your cloud service, select Dashboard, and find the section of Quick glance.
  2. Create an entry CNAME of www for his Site URL (meunome.cloudapp.net)

Obter Site URL

  1. Create an entry A of @ for your VIP (Public Virtual IP)

  • Thank you for helping. I don’t have a website on Azure, only Cloudapp. The website runs on a Tomcat in the virtual machine. Still, it is possible to follow these same steps?

  • I upgraded to Azure Cloud Services, see if you can now

  • Thanks for the guidance. Problem was with registration.br. We were not able to create a CNAME or A record in a simple way, it always required that we put a Master and a Slave. It was enough to choose the option of "using the DNS servers made available free of charge by Registro.br".

  • Okay, I’ll include that information in the answer so that it serves as a reference for other people in the future
