Which Linux terminal command to remove duplicate lines of a.txt file?

my favorite would be:

cat arquivo.txt | sort | uniq >  novo-arquivo.txt

but this will reorder the lines. Without changing the order:

cat arquivo.txt | uniq >  novo-arquivo.txt
