Today I installed the visual code on linux, I used it before but in windows, it happens that some shortcuts are not working and this is damaging my productivity. One of these shortcuts and the most important is - Ctrl + ' - which according to the manual would be used to open the terminal, but does not do this. Many other shortcuts don’t work either.

  • I tried using the shortcuts of this table but for some reason they don’t work, but thank you :)

  • @Rafaelchaves checks the config of your keyboard on the operating system, whether it is en ABNTII or in English.... test if the accents are correct even. In the latter case you put a shortcut any that does not use accents or special characters to test

  • I just checked, the shortcuts came unnoticed

  • @Rafaelchaves de boa, look if it is not some keyboard config, and if you need this is the list of shortcuts n Windows https://code.visualstudio.com/shortcuts/keyboard-shortcuts-windows.pdf

I am in the same difficulty here, the shortcuts presented do not correspond to the actions described, or simply do not work. I also come from Windows and now I’m using Ubuntu 20.04.

Exclusively for your case (which was also my problem) I discovered a palliative that is Ctrl+j, which doesn’t exactly open the terminal, but the last bottom panel you opened (usually the terminal).
