Disable button in menu not to update page, with Javascript

People are wanting to add to the site, a way when a menu button is clicked, it is disabled, for example by clicking on Home, the link from the button directs to the Home page, then if you click again on Home the page does not update anymore, but when you click on Who We Are, the Home button is enabled again. I’m researching and still can’t find how to do it.

Guys, I found an easier way, since it will redirect the page with refresh, I used Session and PHP even. For example: Top at the top of the home page.

In top.php where the buttons are, on top.

Home Home Report Report

This for all menu buttons.
