Some web applications such as CRM’s (https://app.hubspot.com/ - https://app.moskitcrm.com/), start the url with "app" instead of "www".

I would like to know if these are applications that are somehow integrated with the applications that run in the browser, and how this happens.

This question is not about programming, it was simply a definition of the company itself, it simply defined this prefix of this domain for this, ie they made a web application with this domain.

Subdomains are Urls for different sections on your site. They use your main domain and a prefix. For example, if your domain is "www.seudominio.com.br", a possible subdomain, it could be "support.seudominio.com.br".

What you’re looking for is about DNS

The DNS (Domain Name System) servers are responsible for locating and translating to IP numbers the addresses of the websites we type. It’s like a calendar. The entire domain has a DNS server, usually located in the host’s own panel. To do what you are looking for you need to create a "Domain" or an entry in the DNS pointing to the desired server and the server have a Virtual Hostassociated to the name created (app.seudominio.com.br) pointing to the desired application.
