Excel - cell with "hidden" characters

I identified this "anomaly" when I tried to use the PROCV and Excel returned me not available (#N/D).

What happens is that there’s a cell that’s apparently "normal," but when you do: CTRL+C, CTRL+L, CTRL+V, you see that there are actually more characters in the cell - in this case two double quotes and two spaces.

The biggest problem is not so much the hidden characters themselves, but the fact that they are immune to formulas!

I have tried to tidy, replace, but these double asplas and white spaces do not disappear. Nor COLAR ESPECIAL > VALORES in a new spreadsheet works.

Does anyone know what’s behind this? It’s some special formatting?

Hello, try using the formula =TAKE OUT()

Take Out Formula: Remove all non-printable characters from the text

  • It worked out! Thank you
