According to MDN using the tag <time></time> attribute-ridden datetime <time datetime="yyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss"></time>, allows search engines to know the document’s creation date, then presenting this information, in the Rich Snippet of the searches.

It is possible to indicate the date of update of the same ?

You can build your sitemap.xml using the tag <changefreq></changefreq> to tell the crawlers that you want your content to be reindexed, every hour, every day, or weekly for example.

Here you can see the complete and recommended protocol for you to build your sitemap, note that you can determine the regularity with which your content is reindexed: https://www.sitemaps.org/pt_BR/protocol.html

The frequency with which the page is changed. This value provides general information for search engines and it may not exactly match the page’s indexing frequency. The valid values are:

  • Always
  • hourly
  • Daily
  • Weekly
  • Monthly
  • annual
  • Never

The value "Always" should be used to describe documents that are always changed when accessed. The value "Never" should be used to describe archived Urls.

Note that the value of this tag is considered a dica and not a command.

Although one can not be entirely sure that Google will consider this tag to reindexe your content weekly or daily for example

"If the pages of the site are properly linked, the normal will be our web crawlers are able to detect most of your site." but "Use of sitemap does not guarantee that all items on it will be tracked and indexed, as Google’s processes are complex algorithms to program tracking. However, the sitemap benefits the site in most cases, and you will never be penalized for using it."

Other than that, so you don’t get totally no hand of sitemap, in a case of urgency vc can manually request the reindexation of a URL. For example if you do a security update on the contact page you can ask Google to reindexrate your page. Here you can find out more about this: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6065812?hl=pt-BR

To manually add a URL (search tb "Fetch as Google"): https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/submit-url?

To index by Search Console:

You can still request the reindexation of the entire site by Serch Console!
