Problems opening *.FDB file by Ibexpert

Good morning!

I’m trying to pull a database from an old system to read the information. I downloaded and installed Ibexpert, but while trying to open the file I get the following error: "Unsupported on-disk Structure for file, found 32779, support 10."

I get this error, both in the program (the machine still runs Windows XP because of it), as in Ibexpress, as already informed.

How to proceed?

  • Check which version of the database, if for example the database is of Firebird version 2.5 and you try to open using Firebird version 3.0 this error may occur. Then when connecting by Ibexpert inform the Server Version according to your bank’s version.

  • I tried that at 1.5 and 2.0... I couldn’t get... the system is old, the bank is younger and has a change last month. I will try the other versions. Is the mentioned program the most recommended? Do you have any free version? I don’t want the program, I just need to read the database...

  • I never had the curiosity to go after another who read this type of bank... But Ibexpert works "well" to read... Face the most current version of Firebird is in 3.0 and if in your Ibexpert only appears until the Firebird version 2.0, look for the most updated version of Ibexpert that accepts until the version 3.0 of Firebird and also believe that the bank is in the version 2.5 then install Firebird 2.5 also... Firebird’s a pain in the ass

  • Password problem isn’t it? Because I took a bank that had a password, but from what I looked up, the password isn’t in the bank file, it’s in another file, or it’s not!?

  • The version of Ibexpress has up to 3.0, tested in all but unsuccessfully. Password in the bank? Would I receive this error message? Anyway, it’s an alternative. I’m putting a password, which was treated here as default, but I’m not succeeding.

  • For now, I have received the message "Wrong or obsolete version". The system is old, so much so that on this machine where it is runs Windows XP.
