The functions to meet the Central Bank Expectations of the Focus Report are presented the following error:

Error in curl::curl_fetch_memory(url, handle = handle) :
  Failure when receiving data from the peer"

Example of Cran’s own pdf:

library(rbcb)

indic <- c("Balanço de Pagamentos", "Fiscal")
end_date <- "2018-01-31"
x <- get_annual_market_expectations(indic, end_date = end_date, `$top` = 10)

Error in curl::curl_fetch_memory(url, handle = handle) :
  Failure when receiving data from the peer

Someone knows what’s going on?

    I cannot reproduce the error. With me everything is fine, run smoothly.

  • Well, I played on 2 computers and got the same error. I’ll try a third

  • Just like Rui, I started this exact code and I couldn’t reproduce the error. Do the following: execute the command sessionInfo() and edit the question with the output received. Maybe this gives us a light to find the solution to your problem.

  • I edited with sessionInfo output()

  • Maybe there’s a file. Rdata screwing things up. See if there’s a file called . Rdata (this is the full name of the file, not just the extension) and if there is, remove it and then restart R or Rstudio.

    Response from the creator of the 'rbcb' package: "Hi Rafael I’m watching this. In my environment requests work, but other users have reported problems. And it looks like it’s not just proxy configuration. Next week should come out a new release with corrections."
