Generally speaking, one of the characteristics of Git is to be 8 or 80. It can do certain isolations to work in a granular way, but cloning is a fundamental operation that has nothing to do, it has to download everything. Git is not a solution to all problems, so it even suggests some techniques to avoid these deficiencies (plausible, by the way).

But apparently this has changed :) See the comment posted by Felipe up there. In the O.R., but have to tinker with the original to be able to do, it is not yet something direct. I will give a study to post better here.
