Error switching mysql port in xampp

Because I needed to use Mysql Workbench for college, I left port 3306 pro server Workbench and replaced the XAMPP for 3307 as the boy Suman Kotagiri said in this forum https://www.quora.com/How-do-I-change-the-port-of-a-MySQL-server-in-XAMPP

There’s not a lot of doubt about exactly that, so it’s kind of vague about what might be going on. Is there a possibility that Workbench is having some conflict with XAMPP anyway? I shut down the server by Mysql Notifier because I thought it would be a problem to have two servers connected at the same time but not that it helped me 100% to make it work.

You have to change the Phpmyadmin connection setting.

To do this, go to the folder where Phpmyadmin is and find the file config.inc.php, then you’ll have a configuration like $cfg['Servers'][$i]['port'] you’ll have to switch to point at the new door, 3307.

He should be able to call the other service you’ve been running on 3306, but this would be if the access data were the same, which may not be the case here.

You can also have more than 1 server configured in that configuration file (such as Workbench), so you can even create more connection settings to be able to use the same tool and manage both database services.

Just out of curiosity, any specific reason to have 2 services? You are not required to use the Workbench.

  • Within config.inc.php there is no '$cfg['Servers'][$i]['port']', there is 'user', 'password', 'host', 'Extension' and others, less port :/ And Workbench is for the college project while Xampp is for personal study, one for Java and one for PHP. I even know how to use Xampp in Netbeans but Workbench is a requirement

  • Following the format that one of the others uses (for example, duplicates the host), creates an entry for the port and places the value on 3307. The Workbench does the same as Phpmyadmin, you could only have 1 Mysql service and have Workbench and Phpmyadmin connect to it, but then have different databases (within that service) for each project you work on (personal or college study).

  • Even after pressing Start in Mysql and appearing "Problem Detected! Port 3306 in use by "Unable to open process"! Mysql WILL NOT start without the configured ports free!" it works! I mean, now get into phpmyadmin, tomorrow I’ll run the tests to see if I can get the data. Thanks for the @Leite help. About having only 1 Mysql service, you say you have either Xampp or Workbench installed?

I went to the phpyadmin folder and found the config.inc.php file

doubled the $cfg['Servers'][$i]['host'] line= '127.0.0.1';

and changed the host to port and added

$cfg['Servers'][$i]['port'] = '3307';
