I’m trying to run an app from Xcode 9.2 on my iPhone 8 plus (iOS 11.2.1), but Xcode generates the following error:

Codesign wants to access the "access" key of your keys. To allow this, enter the password of the keys "login".

What kind of password is that? I tried to enter the password of my apple ID, the user of my Macbook (high Sierra, 10.13.2), which is administrator type, nothing worked!!! This app runs the simulator without problems, but when doing on a real device, it doesn’t work.

  • my apple ID is developer type
  • in the iphone menu, settings -> user apple ID -> iCloud -> Keys, is as inactive (never used)
  • in the Xcode menu, preferences -> Accounts, already have registered my apple ID
  • in the Xcode project menu, in the "Signing" part, is marked "Automatically Manage Signing" and "Team" is selected in my apple ID

  • I believe this password is that of your machine/mac user

  • I got it after I typed my Mac user password and clicked the button Allow Always.
