Block browser access without Html5 support

I have researched and found some ways to "block" access from specific browsers, but would have some way to do this with everyone who does not have Html5 support?

  • Good you can use Modernizr.

  • Barring any type of browser just by being old is certainly not a good practice... Ideal is to treat your content to the old browsers either with "polyfill for old browsers" or with CSS

  • I find it interesting to bar. Perhaps one way is by restricting the connection to TLS 1.2. This has nothing to do with HTML5, in fact. But, old browsers will not be able to do Handshake, so only modern browsers will have support, the probability of it having HTML5 support is extremely high. I also look forward to a more efficient solution, if any.

My web application is getting a little complex and I am trying to minimize it to the maximum, if this is really possible I will be able to reduce a lot, I think valid because I see no reason to use old browsers without Html5 support as standard, for what I saw I would have to do some sort of gambiarra with the modernizr however for what I researched not employee in all cases...

  • Blocking access may be too radical... How about showing the user a warning to update the browser? http://outdatedbrowser.com/en/project
