Good morning to all,

I need your advice and your experience to evolve your career. I have been a Web Developer for 2/3 years. I have always worked on doing everything from scratch, working with HTML, Javascript, CSS, PHP, Mysql. I do everything in Mysql Workbench and Brackets. But I feel like I don’t know enough yet. About 1 year ago I came to work with Wordpress, I think CSM is very important these days. The problem is what to choose to evolve! For example, I know that in Javascript, we have Angular frameworks etc. Which one should I choose? is better to use framework? The same goes for PHP, there is Laravel, Cakephp etc. I feel they are important tools, but which one to choose and why? and for example ruby on Rails, python? My problem is that there is so much choice and content that I don’t know where to go. I feel that html, javascript, css, mysql and php are just not enough for me to accept any web proposal I feel that my knowledge is limited relative to what I see on the net. If you could guide me and advise me the best way I’d appreciate it.

Regards to all.

  • That kind of question you ask in the chat site

  • Thanks @rray , but I can’t talk on chat due to lack of repputation, if you could help me thank you. I do not know if the question is ridiculous, but the truth is that I feel lost in the middle of so much. Cumps

I also felt, or feel the same way, I know how it is. About "to accept any proposal from the web" I recommend learning other languages that can be used on the web, I myself also knew only the languages you quoted (I’m not professional, just opinion)For example, I started learning C# and saw that it offers me so many cool features that I didn’t have in PHP, although PHP is easier to develop. There are many languages that can also be used for Web, but also do not abandon PHP.

  • @Viníciuslima thanks for the tip. It’s hard to focus on one path when there’s so much different. I know this may seem absurd, but I feel a bit at a loss where to turn. Both in frameworks and languages

  • @leugim I feel the same way kkkkk, because the closest contact I’ve had with programmers is here at Stack, so I’ve never had a conversation with anyone, meaning I have only "my idea of how things work" unfortunately... :'(
