I have a static website that was set up long ago that are files .Aspx. (He’s only in ASPX because I use the contact form).

My question is simple: "It’s worth it to convert my site .Aspx for .Html?".

I want the SEO it gets better to be recognized by the robots of google, the .Aspx is worse or equal at the .Html?

Probably not, SEO takes into account whether the URL is well written/intuitive and descriptive, if it is .html or .aspx or .foobar (it is possible to customize) will not influence.

I believe that at most some site "make up" the type url .php or .aspx or .jsp for .html (with url_rewrite) so people don’t know what technology the site uses.

A "better" (more intuitive) url would be something like:

http://site/artigo/seo-de-html-vs-aspx.aspx

Which is no different from this:

http://site/artigo/seo-de-html-vs-aspx.html

Still yes not because of SEO but rather to facilitate the life of the user, something like this would be ideal:

http://site/artigo/seo-de-html-vs-aspx

You can’t tell the behavior of bots, let alone say that url_rewrite will have better rank in Google and related, urls so are just one of the many points needed to rise in rank, by own experience I tell you that well written Urls are yes better, but do not make you stand in front of other sites, because there are other factors with much higher weight.

Take into account that the google BOT is changing, can not state anything accurately.

Good morning Jackson,

I’m not an expert in SEO but as I understand the tool google uses the links to perform the indexing, so if your address is a valid internet address no matter if it is aspx, html, php and others. To better understand take a look at this link http://monge.com.br/blog-detalhe-seo-consultoria-web-sites/como-o-google-exibe-os-resultados-de-pesquisas/16 because the guy gave a summary in the operation.

To better index and appear in the first positions in a query there are several companies specialized in SEO that can assure you a better ranking. You can also study the techniques and try to apply yourself, some tips can be found on the site http://www.agenciamestre.com/seo/o-que-e-seo/

About converting your website will depend a lot on your need, if the current technology does not meet your demand is worth it, otherwise I suggest only you make a change to make your views responsive, ie adapting to the access device. This makes the environment more pleasant to the user than accessing from a smartphone and tablet.

I hope I’ve helped ;)

  • Thank you so much for the reply! Good references and information :)

  • Imagine Jackson, the goal is always to help each other! :)
