Today the market is looking for more and more frameworks for hybrid mobile application development. One framework I had heard about was Kony, because it was chosen by Itau (Recently Switched).

I would like to understand a little more about this framework:

  • In which project reality Kony is the best choice?
  • What are the advantages of Kony as a Framework?
  • Why Hybrid Frameworks Mostly Work with Javascript and Derivatives?

I checked on the website of the framework and they have other great players in their customers (Localiza, Farmatodo, etc.)

Hello Luiz, I suggest you divide your doubt in more questions. There are three events in your Bullet list... The former can easily be regarded as mainly based on opinions. The other two are good questions and each deserves a different answer.

I didn’t know, and I was impressed, would Kony be a good app inventor? kk

  • I don’t think so, from my research he’s pretty bad at using and maintaining, so I wanted to understand what makes someone choose him.

In which project reality Kony is the best choice?

When you have legacy services it has output in SOAP as it has an integrated tool called Mobile Fabric that allows easy conversion to JSON for you to make your Restful calls.

What are the advantages of Kony as a Framework?

It has a quick learning curve because it uses javascript for its implementation, has a team behind it to provide support and generates native code.

Why Hybrid Frameworks Mostly Work with Javascript and Derivatives?

I believe that for simplicity and familiarity, for being a language that is common in several languages, for example, programmers who have familiarity with Asp.net, php, among other web languages usually have javascript as a common language, in addition javascript is point of intersection between the two most used operating systems for mobile.
