What is the difference between Reverse Proxy and Forward Proxy?

I’m looking for the answer to this question, but most of the sources I consulted, including Stack Overflow itself, have not solved my question.

Simple, the difference between one and the other is that the Forward Proxy is used to protect customers within a given internal network, i.e., filters packets coming from external networks. Already the Reverse Proxy does the opposite, which is to protect clients' servers; filtering the packets coming from the internal network (clients) to the external (servers).
