Sharpdevelop is equivalent to VS or not, it’s a long way to go. I see great difficulties in installing certain packages, for example, the Microsoft.ServiceBus.Notifications. It is an alternative to small projects?

The visual studio is more complex, Sharpdevelop and less complex, lighter and faster

No, it wouldn’t even have to be, they’re completely different products. Basically both wish to meet the same need, but each goes their own way, apart from what is standard language, they are completely incompatible, except by coincidence.

Hence using any existing package for the code should not change anything. IDE is one thing, language is another and the latter is the same anywhere. If something was done to run with some implementation of . NET will run the same everywhere you use to develop. What can happen is to have some problem with the platform, something that an implementation does not allow, but if the implementation is the . NET Framework will be the same in Visual Studio or #Develop.

If you are in any particular difficulty you should ask specifically why.

  • No, I’m not. I just really wanted to know the difference, even for a day who knows, to be able to make the precise choice. I know the question is broad, but the answer of big gave to understand the two environments.
