Cannot find module@google/maps

I’m using the package @google/maps, installing:

npm install @google/maps

and

npm install @types/googlemaps

I made the import:

import * as gmaps from '@google/maps'

But I get the error

Cannot find module '@google/maps'

I strongly encourage you to use some angled library made for use of the maps api, such as the angular-maps. There are many problems reported with the definitive type created so far, the poor documentation is one of them, in theory with the @type/google-maps you wouldn’t even need the import and should only use a standard access variable.
