Through a query
, how can I get the disk space that the tables (in a database) are occupying?
I can list all tables using sys.tables
, but, and the size?
SELECT NAME AS NomeTabela FROM sys.tables

A another way is with the command sp_spaceused:
Observing: SQL Server version greater than or equal to 2012.
sp_msforeachtable 'EXEC sp_spaceused [?]'
thus also bringing part of the index size.
Reference: sp_spaceused (Transact-SQL)

In the Technet Gallery there are several scripts on how to get table size.
For visual analysis, the simplest way is
-- código #1
execute sp_MSforeachtable 'execute sp_spaceused [?]'

The use of the sp_MSforeachtable procedure is also possible in versions prior to SQL Server 2012. I am only in doubt if it existed before the 2000 version. The same for the sp_spaceused procedure.
