Reading about javascript I came across the term prototyping-based programming, and I also saw that in devmedia claim that javascript is an object-oriented language based on prototypes.
Finally I would like to better understand the concept of programming based on prototypes, where it applies, if possible with examples.

@bigown I did a lot of research before asking I found some that you put here, but I really didn’t find this one: http://answall.com/questions/15239/how-functionm-prot%C3%B3types-in-javascript is technically not the same question but the answer suits me, I should rule that out?
