R-core team launched on 03/06/2017 version 3.3.3 of R. Since then, some packages are releasing messages like this:

package name_do_package was built under R version 3.3.3

  1. What’s new in the R 3.3.3?
  2. It is worth installing the new version?
  3. I’ll have to reinstall every package I use?

  1. Here’s a list of what’s new in R 3.3.3. As there are 3,137 characters of information, I find it counterproductive to copy and paste everything around here. Take a look at the link to see what has changed.

  2. Set "worth it". Depending on your use of the program, even a 1.x version can be useful. Particularly, I like to keep updated all the programs on my computer. This includes the R and its packages. The message package "nome_do_pacote" was built under R version 3.3.3 is only warning you that "nome_do_pacote" was made and tested with the version 3.3.3 of R. There might be a problem if "nome_do_pacote" is used in a previous version of the program. But it may not be a problem. It’s just a warning.

  3. Look at the answer 2. It’s not accurate reinstall all packages, but it is suggested what to do. Updated packages may have fixed bugs, for example.
