There’s a good chance you’re only referring to a language that doesn’t exist, whose intention of the text is not to establish syntax or semantics specific to any existing language, just exemplify the problem in general lines as it would be in an unspecified programming language.
The term is used without a great specific meaning in computation, but indicates that it is a language that exists only in theory for the purpose of explaining some concept.
