In operating systems, what is the difference between I/O and I/O operations?

I have some doubts in distinguishing these two operations, they are similar but I think not the same, although both have to do with input and output of something "something".

No difference. I/O is Input/Output. I/O is Input/Output. That is, it is only a matter of translation.

IO operations is everything the operating system deals with devices other than the processor or memory.

  • In several Portuguese articles, I see both I/O and I/O definitions, hence my question. In what situations should each ? Will be indifferent ?

  • @jorgesaraiva I consider indifferent. I realize that in Portugal there is a greater tendency to use the translated term, but I may be mistaken. is more a linguistic question even, technically has no reason to use one or the other.

  • so I’m more clear. But basically these operations are done between the S.O and the I/O devices in the form of correct interruptions ?
