Error every time I switch from API 24 to API 15, API 16 or API 19.

  • This feature exists in previous versions of the api ?

  • I believe that the Theme.Appcompat is only from API 21 onwards

  • I believe only from API 21 (I also tried this and the same problem). Actually I would like to know how to change the API of the Android project... or if there is a way in which when creating project already create with API 15 for example, a default configuration or something like that...

To change the project’s intended API

  1. Double click on Properties
  2. In the same section Aplication choose the intended API

  • Another thing to consider would be the Nuget packages you are using, some are only compatible with API 21 up
